What is a mobile wallet?

Mobile wallet refers to smartphone apps that allow you to enter and store your debit cards for contactless payments. Oak Bank debit cards enable mobile wallet with Apple Pay®, Google Pay™, Samsung Pay®, Fitbit Pay™, and Garmin Pay™.

Why do people like it?

Two of the biggest benefits are added convenience and security.

  1. You can use mobile wallet at more than a million stores across the U.S. and this number is growing all the time. Look for this symbol   at the checkout indicating the merchant may accept contactless payments like mobile wallet.
  2. Mobile wallets provide more security because they use random payment codes that change with every transaction.

Can you use your mobile wallet for online shopping?

Yes. The process eliminates having to enter all your card information, so you reduce your exposure to fraud.

How do I set up my Oak Bank debit card in my mobile wallet?

Open the mobile wallet app on your mobile device. Select to add cards from the menu and follow the instructions. One of the following authentication methods may be used to complete your card setup: PIN, passcode, pattern, fingerprint, email, text, or message to contact bank.

What if your smartphone is lost or stolen?

Each wallet has the option for built-in protection (such as a PIN, face recognition, thumbprint, etc.), so even if your phone or device is stolen, the cards in the mobile wallet won't be accessed. As an extra precaution, you can go to Apple, Google, Samsung, Fitbit, or Garmin's website, and put your phone or device in LOST mode.

There are no sign-up fees or monthly service charges, but standard charges from your cell phone provider may apply.
Please check with your phone carrier to makes sure your phone supports NFC (Near Field Communication) which is required for mobile wallet to work.
